London: She is a bit shy at times, learned behaviour from her former life, and can be a little spooked if she thinks you’re chasing her. London has come a long way since she arrived in care and grows more confident by the day. She opens up and loves attention and petting when she’s in a place where she feels safe. She purrs and purrs and looks at you with her big blue eyes, wanting more attention. London is fine to be picked up and carried about. She is a quiet and gentle cat. London is a relaxed, low-maintenance cat who can often be found lounging on the bed or couch. She does love to play though and sometimes chases or is chased by her bestie Tennessee all in the name of play.
Tennessee: He can be a little spooked in some situations – for example, if he feels cornered. But he welcomes petting and seeks out attention from his foster people, loving to curl up in his people’s lap for chin scratches. He’s thriving in his new life. He’s a bit of a character. When you pet him, he rolls around enthusiastically, exposing his belly, though may change his mind as to whether belly-petting is a good idea. He likes to be picked up and slung over your shoulder and will hang out there purring. Sometimes he can be a feisty guy and will give, what for him, are love bites. He doesn’t have any teeth though so they’re more gummy nibbles, that don’t hurt. He likes to nap with the other cats in the house, stretching out on the couch, snuggling up to whoever is willing, seeking out the warmth and comfort of his bestie London on the regular.
Both London and Tennessee are used to other cats and enjoy their company, dogs are an unknown. Both would thrive in a quieter home, older children may be ok.
London and Tennesse have received preventative flea and worm treatments.
London and Tennessee came to CATS in the spring of 2022 with several other cats. Both have had a bit of a rough start in life, but they have learned how wonderful a loving home truly is
Due to the rough conditions they were found in, fending for themselves and eating anything they could find, London has had to have 13 teeth removed; she did well after her dental surgery with no signs of problems. She eats both wet food and kibble and Tennessee has had to have all of his teeth removed. Currently, he eats wet food only.
CATS has a Foster to Adopt program. This program allows you to take a cat home for a period of time before you finalize the adoption, to determine if you and the cat are a good lifelong match. Matches will be made for residents living on Vancouver Island only at this time.
